Motor manufacturer Ford has signed a new agreement with DHL Supply Chain for the handling of spare parts in the Nordic region and the Baltic States. The agreement covers the supply of 23,000 different spare parts and will be managed at DHL Supply Chain's distribution centre in Örebro, Sweden.

"From experience, we know that DHL can fulfil our requirements of fast and reliable transports to our Ford dealers and workshops, which is essential for us. This is why we chose to renew the agreement. The excellent service DHL supports us with in the Nordics and in the Baltic states, is very satisfying. Örebro is also a very good geographical location for the warehouse", said Klaus Heinen, European Purchasing Manager at Ford.

In addition to the existing contract conditions some of the Ford workshops in the Stockholm area will use the Örebro warehouse as a Local Distribution Centre (LDC), meaning that the workshop places an order in the morning, and receives the delivery by noon. All the spare parts are packed separately per specific repair, i.e. for a certain car at the workshop. A major benefit for the Ford resellers is that they do not need to have spare parts in stock.
